We glide through the cave. I think of myself as a straight edged arrow. The space below me, an invisible rebound that prevents me from dipping down and keeps me in neutral buoyancy.
We pass through a U-shaped restriction that forces us into a downward angle, moving headfirst toward the ground while our legs are still caught inside the rock contours. This is a liberating moment where the diver is taken out of their log shape and into what feels like a momentary free fall where we become top heavy.
